At IIW 25, I hosted an Indieweb session and we went through an Indieweb Wordpress Installation. We installed the Indieweb Plugin for Wordpress and it guided us through installing plugins for Webmention and Post Kinds, for instance. Doc Searls posted Digging Indieweb on Customer Commons and we tested webmention and learned that under Settings/Discussion, there is a “Attempt to notify any blogs linked to from the article” setting that needs to be on. Thanks to David Shanske for the pointer. David created a new github issue to make it more obvious from the user interface during installation. I gave the issue a thumbs up!

Tomorrow (Wed. 10/4) is Austin’s 2nd Homebrew Website Club meeting. It is at the Monkey Nest coffee shop from 6:30-7:30pm. Since last month’s meeting, there has been some interest expressed for an IndiewebCamp Austin for the weekend of Dec 9.

Also, Douglas Rushkoff was in Austin recently and interviewed Jon Lebkowsky for his Team Human podcast. About 30 minutes in, the Indieweb is mentioned.
